Community Outreach

Daan
At Anand Niketan Shilaj (ANSH), we believe in the power of giving. The phrase “The gift of blood is the gift of life” holds profound significance, and we strive to make a meaningful impact through our annual Blood Donation Camp.
Every year, our dedicated parents and staff come together to donate blood, ensuring that no one is deprived of the opportunity to chase their dreams due to the unavailability of this life-saving resource. Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to community welfare, compassion, and the spirit of selfless giving.

Milaap
Christmas is not just about receiving gifts, but also about sharing love and kindness with those who need it the most. Through Project Milaap, an annual community outreach initiative, students are encouraged to embrace the spirit of giving by contributing to those less fortunate.
Every year, during the festive season, the Shilaj campus organizes a collection drive to gather gently used toys, clothes, books, and household items. These donations are sent to orphanages, remand homes, and slums, where dreams flourish despite the lack of resources to realize them.
Students play an integral role in this initiative, not only by donating but also by learning invaluable life lessons about empathy, generosity, and the joy of giving. Through Project Milaap, we hope to nurture a sense of social responsibility and a deep connection to the community, while making the holiday season brighter for those in need.

Ehsaas
Project Ehsaas was initiated with the aim of offering students the pure joy of giving, driven by compassion and love for others. On their special days, their birthdays, students are encouraged to bring stationery to school as a gesture of kindness.
These thoughtfully donated items are then collected and passed on to local municipal schools, where they can make a meaningful difference. By contributing, students not only help others but also experience the joy of giving firsthand, learning the invaluable lesson of selfless generosity.

Ek Naya Prayas
Many of those who build our homes, temples, and schools lead nomadic lives, making it impossible for them to send their children to even free schools. In response to this urgent need, Ek Naya Prayas was initiated to educate children from marginalized communities who lack access to formal education.
In this heartfelt initiative, staff members from ANSH visit construction sites to set up mobile aanganwadis, where children are provided with nourishing food, a safe environment to explore their childhood, and an opportunity to learn, even if just for a brief time. This effort ensures that these children, despite their circumstances, have access to education and care, helping them build a brighter future.

Saksham
In our city, many children are unable to attend even free municipal schools due to challenges such as distance, lack of transportation, or the responsibility of caring for younger siblings. Saksham aims to break down these barriers and bring education to their doorsteps.
Through this initiative, the Anand Niketan Shilaj campus reaches out to these children, offering transportation, food, and basic clothing, while providing subject-specific classes and activities on our school campus. Children aged 3 to 13 are welcomed into this program, giving them an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
We also encourage parents who wish to volunteer their time and skills as teachers, activity staff, or medical practitioners to join us in this compassionate endeavor. If interested, please contact the Director directly.

Sneh
India faces one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, with many children, who should be a source of joy, lost prematurely due to a lack of proper care and knowledge. Project Sneh aims to change this by providing essential support to new mothers.
As part of this initiative, maternity kits containing basic necessities for both newborns and mothers are distributed at government hospitals. This project was inspired by research into Finland’s success in reducing its infant mortality rate, where simple, yet vital maternity kits were provided to new mothers.
Through Sneh, we aim to offer new mothers the resources they need to ensure a healthier start for their children, ultimately contributing to saving lives and fostering a brighter future for the next generation.

Paalna
The aim has always been to create a stress-free and joyful environment for both students and staff. Recognising that many staff members are mothers who face challenges when no one is available to care for their children at home, Paalna was introduced as a solution.
Initially, the goal was to provide a nurturing space for the children of staff to learn and play while their mothers continued their work. However, as the number of working mothers grew, enquiries about the daycare facility began to increase from both the school community and other working parents.
In response to this growing need, the doors of Paalna were opened to all, providing a safe, healthy, and happy environment for children while their parents are at work. This initiative offers working parents peace of mind, knowing their children are well cared for.

Peepal Project
Anand Niketan Shilaj continuously endeavours to create a Green school by inculcating the habit of reducing, reusing or recycling. Being a Green school supporter not only means that we are benefitting the earth, but also that we are saving our own valuable resources.
We hope to see this platform used widely and wisely, in good faith. A school is a community and as a community we hope we can not only help each but also help ourselves and this planet.
